Who We Are

Meet Amy & Jim

Amy’s love of and dedication to eating seasonal and local foods began when her sister started farming in the Mission Valley 15 years ago. Her close relationship with Foothill Farm, and then her position of Retail Manager for Western Montana Growers Cooperative solidified relationships with farmers, ranchers, and food producers as she helped them sell to the local community.

After discovering Montana’s incredible heirloom tomatoes, she swore off out-of-season tomatoes for good. Amy has spent most of her life dedicated to fitness and martial arts and loves sharing her knowledge of and joy for these activities. Being drawn to physicality, she loves to work on her sister’s farm. That physical labor is something she deeply admires in others who dedicate their lives to farming. She looks forward to sharing her passion for food in the same way she has loved teaching and coaching for so many years.

Jim grew up in a family that enjoyed food, and especially enjoyed sharing food with others. In his late teens and early twenties, he catered for auto racing teams in Wisconsin and Florida. These experiences led him to open a restaurant with his family in his early thirties that centered around fresh-made sandwiches (think: chicken chipotle and bacon panini) and delicious baked goods (think: carrot cake with praline filling between layers, outrageous chocolate brownies, peanut butter sandwich cookies). His experience has been sprawling: from juicy burgers to champagne-poached salmon at black-tie events.

Amy and Jim met more recently, after they had already experienced many adventures on their own. Their first collaboration was a Vietnamese-inspired meal for neighbors and friends, and they’ve continued to collaborate ever since. They have eaten their way across the country but always returned to the state they love where the wealth of ingredients continues to inspire them. They have taken on many creative food endeavors together, making homemade liqueurs, amaros, soda, breads and fermented foods. And with Jim’s Wisconsin roots and Amy’s overseas travels, they also have cultivated a die-hard passion for cheese, and they look forward to sharing that love of melty, gooey goodness with their customers.
